My name is Sruthi Chetput, and I am a 10th grader at Lynbrook High School in California. I have been learning Bharatanatyam at Shri Krupa Dance School in the Bay Area for nearly 10 years — and dance has taught me more than movement. It has taught me what it means to be held up by a community.

I aspire to enter the medical field someday — a dream I can pursue because of the incredible support system around me. But I often think about students who carry equally big dreams with far fewer resources. During visits to India, I met some of these students firsthand, and their stories stayed with me. That is why I am organising this fundraiser. Not just to raise money, but because I truly believe that lifting someone else does not diminish your own light — it multiplies it.

When I shared this vision with my mom, she introduced me to Aakkam Foundation — and their mission spoke directly to my heart. I hope it speaks to yours too
