My name is Sruthi Chetput and I am a 10th grader at Lynbrook High School in California. I enjoy dancing and have been learning Bharatanatyam for about 10 years now. I aspire to get into the medical field and feel lucky that I have a support system helping and nurturing me to get there. But I often think about students without that
support system and how challenging it can be for them to achieve their dreams. That is why I am doing this fundraiser! Through this fundraising program, I want to support students who need financial support to realize their dreams.

Growing up, my parents often told me about the many students in India who are unable to afford a college education. During my previous visits to India, I met some of these students firsthand, which made a lasting impression on me and inspired me to take action. I firmly believe that every gesture of support matters, and helping even one student can have a ripple effect. No contribution is too small. Motivated by this, I decided to organize a fundraiser dance program with the goal of raising enough funds to support at least six students—not just through college, but until they achieve financial independence. When I shared this vision with my mom, she introduced me to ‘Aakkam Foundation’ and their Scholarship Program. The foundation’s mission to empower students and provide comprehensive support resonated deeply with me and inspired me to begin planning this fundraiser event.
The Aakkam Scholarship Project identifies and mentors aspiring students from orphanages, starting well before their final school exams and continuing through college until they secure employment. More than just financial aid, the program provides personalized academic guidance, emotional support, and all essential resources—including tuition, hostel accommodation, study materials, and living expenses.
The cost to sponsor a student through their undergraduate college degree is approximately ₹30,000. This fundraiser aims to raise ₹2,50,000 to support around 8 students in achieving their dream of a high-quality college education. Every small contribution toward this goal can make a big difference!
Let’s make education not just a privilege for the few—but a right for all.
